The ‘Lacey’ bits.

Hi Everyone

Meet Francesca.

Francesca is of English, Australian and Mauritian heritage and lives in Nottingham, England, right in the middle of the country.

Francesca’s just discovered a secret that will change her life forever. A secret so precious that her favourite Aunt kept it hidden in a false wall inside her house.

Now it’s up to Francesca to travel to the other side of the world in an attempt to find the truth about her family’s past. Meanwhile in Nottingham, 1935, Francesca’s great grandmother, Mary, does what she can to survive.

What connection do Mary and Francesca share and how does it affect their lives?

Welcome to my newest creation, working title, ‘The Lace Sisters’.

The story is told from Francesca and her great grandmother’s point of view and covers the period from 1935 through to the near-future.

The story itself is a labour of love because it honours my own grandmother and her two sisters who lived their lives between Australia and England. Although their lives aren’t the same as those of the fictional Rose & Kathleen, their adventures and resilience inspired this story.

I’ll keep you posted on progress.

Until next time,

Jacqui.
